About this event
AWS Summit Washington D.C. is the largest AWS Summit in North America and the only one tailored exclusively for the public sector community. The 2026 edition runs June 30 to July 1 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, bringing together government, education, healthcare, nonprofit and defense professionals alongside AWS experts for two days of keynotes, technical sessions, hands-on learning and networking.
The event is designed for public sector innovators from federal government, state and local agencies, education institutions, nonprofits and defense organizations who want to explore how cloud and AI are transforming missions, operations and citizen services.
More than 350 sessions span agentic AI, security, data analytics, cloud migration and public sector digital transformation, with customer-led sessions showing real solutions to real challenges.

Dave Levy confirmed as keynote speaker
Dave Levy, Vice President of AWS Worldwide Public Sector, will deliver the keynote address at AWS Summit Washington D.C. 2026. In this role, Dave leads government, education, aerospace and satellite, and nonprofit businesses globally, as well as healthcare and life sciences in North America. His teams help customers realize the potential of technology to transform their organizations and fulfil their missions.

The AWS Public Sector Partner Summit runs on June 29, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EDT at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. This free one-day event brings together Public Sector Partners for strategic alignment, expert-led discussions and networking to maximise partner success. Separate registration is required on the Partner Summit page.
Keynote livestreamed for overflow and remote attendees
Space in the keynote hall is limited and registering for AWS Summit does not guarantee keynote access. The keynote will be livestreamed in the Expo and in breakout rooms to accommodate overflow seating. All seats are first come, first seated.

Walter E. Washington Convention Center
The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is centrally located in downtown Washington D.C. and is served by three major airports: DCA, IAD and BWI, with easy access by car or public transportation. For public transportation, Metro's Green, Yellow or Red lines and Amtrak's service to Washington DC Union Station all provide access. Multiple parking garages are located around the Convention Center with hourly and daily rates. AWS does not reimburse or validate parking or other travel costs.

AWS Summit Washington D.C. has run annually as the largest AWS Summit in North America and the only one tailored exclusively for the public sector community. The 2025 edition took place June 10 and 11 at the Walter E.
Washington Convention Center, where cloud infrastructure expansion, agentic AI advancement and national security initiatives took centre stage during the keynote.
Dave Levy, Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector at AWS, delivered the keynote and was joined on stage by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Session recordings and highlights are on the AWS Public Sector Blog.
Main announcements included:
- AWS announced plans to launch the AWS Secret-West Region by the end of 2025, marking the company's second Secret Region accredited to support workloads up to the Secret classification level, reinforcing AWS's commitment to supporting US government classified missions with infrastructure that meets the requirements for data residency, privacy and security
- Amazon affirmed plans to invest at least $30 billion in AI infrastructure across Pennsylvania and North Carolina, creating the technological backbone for the generative and agentic AI era
- Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard joined Dave Levy on stage to share her vision for the future of national intelligence using AI and machine learning
- AWS marked one year since the launch of the Generative AI Impact Initiative, a $50 million investment to support public sector organizations using AWS generative AI services. Almost 300 organizations received cloud credits, training and technical expertise since launch, and the initiative remains open until the end of June 2026
- The AWS Large Language Model League took centre stage at the 2025 Summit, giving attendees a hands-on approach to fine-tuning large language models
- The keynote concluded with a surprise announcement for graduates of the AWS Information Infrastructure Pre-Apprenticeship program, who received full-time job offers from AWS, demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to workforce development in the public sector
